Painter, musician and composer, born in Copenhagen april 13th 1955.

Originally inspired by the impressionists he quickly discovers Klee, Kandinsky, Mirò.

into a magical and adventurous voyage, where the changeable,imaginative and fascinating flow together. The works moves, activates and engages the viewer. With colorful expression and playful forms the paintings become alive with poetry and humor. The simple, yet expressive means bears witness to the fact that Spang-Hanssen's inventiveness and creativity is not only reserved for his musical career. Colors and forms are wowen together in aesthetic relations, and the fugitive gesticulations of organic and lyrical brush strokes leads the thoughts to the elastic rhythms and improvisational freedom of jazz music. Simon Spang-Hanssen is inspired by Kandinsky, Picasso and Mirò, but it is obvious that he has found his own timbre, a style, that serves his own individual artistic expression
